What is the purpose of HACCP?

The HACCP concept was developed in order to specify the necessary hygiene requirements and ensure production of safe and suitable food. The food hygiene ordinance in Germany and European Regulation No. 852/2004 specify that the HACCP concept is mandatory for all organizations concerned with the production, processing and sale of foodstuffs.

The HACCP concept bundles all efforts to supply consumers with safe food and to optimise consumer protection. The concept involves corrective and preventive strategies which have a positive impact on your internal processes.

Is certification to HACCP accredited?

The German Accreditation Council withdrew from accreditation for HACCP as early as 2017. The reason is that HACCP is now a legal requirement and therefore is no longer a voluntary standard, and it is not used as a basis for ISO 22000 . We therefore sought an alternative accreditation which is valid throughout the world, and we offer our clients accreditation to the American accreditation body ANAB. ANAB is the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) National Accreditation Board in the USA.
