Students are considered non-degree when they audit or take courses without working toward a degree. The non-degree student attends classes for their own interests, to fulfill certain prerequisite or introductory classes necessary for another program, or to gain specific skills in their field without having to take a full degree program. However, credits earned by students with non-degree status may later be transferred to a degree program.
Please note that the admission requirements for non-degree students are the same as those for regular degree students. In addition, non-degree students register for courses on a space-available basis.
The steps to apply are as follows:
- Complete the Undergraduate Non-Degree Application
- Attach the document(s) that you are required to submit as instructed on the application.
- There is a $65 undergraduate non-degree application processing fee which will be applied to your CUNYfirst account.
